small town near Copenhagen for a few of hours on a Sunday morning

Jump to last reply

I will have a Sunday morning before catching a flight out of CPH in mid-afternoon. I am considering where to spend the morning. The museums, etc. do not open until at least 10 or 11 am and I will have spent the previous day touring some of these and the city center.
If possible, I would like to take a short bus or train ride to a small town--a contrast to the big city--to see a bit more of Denmark.

I have found one person who took a bus to Dragor and remarked on the thatched roofs, yellow houses, etc. That would be close to the airport, so I might take my bag there and store it, then do a round trip to Dragor. I also have an option of staying at a hotel at the train/bus crossroads near the airport, which would make this an easy RT from the hotel and then to the airport.

Further away (1 hr from main train station) I have found Køge, which a guide book says is scenic. I would then stay in central Copenhagen hotel, leave my bag at the main station and return there before heading to the airport.

Any other suggestions for towns within 1 hr direct transport of Copenhagen?
