Slovenia/Croatia trip

I have read trip reports and the comments they have generated with great interest. I am looking for some helpful comments on my upcoming trip to Slovenia and Croatia. My wife and I like to hike and bike as well as relax and enjoy the culture of each country. We are flying from Toronto (I live in the NY but only 90 minutes from Niagara Falls, ON) to Vienna on September 8th arriving the 9th and have to be back in Vienna late afternoon on the 23rd as we fly back on the 24th. So I have about 15 days for the trip. I was renting a car and driving to Zagreb, going to Plitivice Lakes then onto Dubrovnik, going next to Rovinj motoring on to Ljubljana, getting to Lake Bohinj, moving on to Kranjska Gora, Kobarid and if time allows Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy finally making it back to Vienna.

I know all this depends on how much time I want to spend in one place. Is Dubrovnik and good choice or is Catat? Am I taking on to much. I have 15 days - 7 in Croatia and 8 in Slovenia? Many of the Fodorite 's comments have always said they had wish they had spent more time in Slovenia. I appreciate you all taking time to read this and I thank you in advance for your comments and advice.
