Hello,
We'll be in Amsterdam and can fly to Ljublijana on 9/22 (arrive noon) and will depart from Pula on 9/30 unless someone has a better suggestion. I found one way car rentals LJU-PUY for about $300. I'm happy with that.
Can anyone help with an itinerary? We have already been to Zagreb, Plitivice and Dalmatia on a previous trip several years ago. Looks like we should spend a night in Ljublijana and a night in Bled. Rovinj looks interesting too. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

You might add at least one night to one or both, so you have a full day in each and a day in between for Lake Bohinj and the Vintgar Gorge and maybe one of the caves.
> Rovinj looks interesting too.
Definitely worth considering, both for the town itself and as a base for visiting Istria's hill towns.
If you have any interest in Byzantine mosaics, consider a stop in Porec for the Euphrasian Basilica.
Enjoy!
If you like hiking and beautiful scenery, add a night in Kobarid in the Soca River Valley and stay as Hisa Franka. Visit the WW1 museum. You can drive there via the gorenska brda and do some wine tasting. Drive out via Kranska gora and then loop down and around to Ljubljana. You will go through Bohinj (which will probably be dead...unless you are lucky enough to hit the Cow Ball´s Festival) and Bled.
Thanks KJA and SloJan2. I'll put your suggestions on my list.
I'd recommend Rovinj, Bled, Bohinj and Soca Valley, all beautiful places with kind and welcoming people. We stayed in Casa Garzotto in Rovinj, they take care of the parking and bring the car in front of the hotel when you leave- in Rovinj, you have to park outside the city centre, and provide bikes for the duration of your stay. Soca Valley: consider Idrija-lace museum, Kobarid, Tolmin, Bovec...
Bled for me is too full of tourists, I'd choose Bohinj instead, more natural and quieter, plus a lot of small villages around with delicious dairy products. A couple of years ago we stayed in private apartmlents called Korosec (not entirely sure of the name), it was great! Book through the local tourist board, they're very kind and willing to help!
