I stayed (female alone) on Sloane Ave, Chelsea at the Nell Gywnn apts and loved the area. Very safe with lots of restaurants/shops nearby.

Sloane Square is just south of Knightsbridge and is very safe. You will be within walking distance of the District, Circle, and Picaddilly lines, as well as various shops and restaurants.
