Skye Cottages & Inns

Jump to last reply

If you could stay in only one area of Skye and you were looking for the most stirring scenery to wake up to, with weather no worse than elsewhere, and a quiet atmosphere away from the island's busiest centres, would you stay North of Portree, or South of Portree, back towards the ferry area and Elgol boat trips?

Is anyone able to compare the following accommodations in terms of overall appeal, location, quality of rooms and facilities (and view)?

White Heather - Kyleakin
Kinloch Lodge - Sound of Sleat

Mary's Cottages: Elgol
Rajput: Elgol
An Slinean: Staffin
Lyndale: Edibane
Green Pastures: Gillen

We are looking for something with some character and an old-fashioned look - very nice quality - home but with nice beds and decent views as we hear the scenery is great.

What do you think the top three here are and why?
