gosh, wandering gal, where to start?
there are many ski resorts in France, all have ski schools with qualified instructors and beginners' slopes, and most offer good facilities for beginners. As for cheap, it depends on what time of year [Easter is relatively early this year so will be expensive] and whether you want a high altitude place with better chances of snow, or are prepared to take a risk on somewhere lower. also whether you want a charming chalet or a tiny apartment.
Morzine, les deux alps, Portes du Soleil are all places that spring to mind.
Annhig, preferrably reachable by train, has nice view and not expensive. Travel time should not be that long.

travel time from where?
I'm sorry to say that I've never been skiing by train, but i found this useful website by using google:
http://www.snowcarbon.co.uk/ski-resorts/closest-stations
none of the french ski-reports have an in-town station [mostly swiss and austrian ones have those] but Les Arcs is said to be only 7 minutes from the station in Bourg st. Maurice.
i also found this website by putting the following into google:
"ski resorts in France with train stations"
http://www.eurostar.com/UK/uk/leisure/destinations/direct_services/ski_train.jsp
might i politely and gently suggest that you explore these and other websites via google and then come back with some more specific questions on a new thread?
Annhig, what I meant is that the city/place where the resort is located is reachable visa train from Paris. Coz we are not planning to rent a car and drive.
i will check all suggested websites thanks!
Try Flaine, in the Haute Savoie, France.

i guesses that - those websites should help, especially the eurostar one.
google is your friend!
We go to Menuires in the Trois Vallées. I don't think its the cheapest resort in France, but it is the cheapest one in this region. You take the train to Moutiers, then there is a bus.
There are a number of great ski resorts in the French Pyrenees.
