Sixtytwohotel? Hotel Bakery Prasnik? Euro-Park? Or Ofelias?

Trying to find a hotel for three nights in mid August that is within the 150 per night range and includes a free breakfast. Air-conditioning is a must. Also situated in the Eixample neighborhood. We need two rooms. Ofelias is four metro stops away and we can get a great deal, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to stay in a nicer hotel that isn't as centrally located. I think not. Location, location, location, no?

Thanks!

Speaking of location-location...you haven't said what city/country you're visiting. The tag says only Europe. Maybe it's a trick question - if I knew the names, I'd know the city.

Apparently this thread is a continuation of your other "hotel in Barcelona":

I agree with location is better than saving a bit on a vacation. I knew that hotel name was familiar but couldn't place it (62).

Is that 150 euro or $? Let's hope euro. That is going to be difficult in AUgust. I really like the NH Calderon which is a very nice hotel in a great location in Eixemple and has great AC and it has some rates around 180 euro, but I don't think that includes breakfast (you might want to forget that requirement, many hotels don't give you "free" breakfast in Barcelona).

The 3* Astoria is within your range, and it on the upper edges of Eixemple, but it is cheaper. Don't think you get free breakfast, of course. I haven't seen any hotel in Barcelona that does that but I've only viewed several dozen at various times.

Also, you might just check the Derby hotel chain website, they have several hotels in Barcelona, some moderately priced like that one.

If you can get the HOtel 62 for that rate including breakfast, I'd grab it. I don't see it but if you got those rates, that's good. I've seen that hotel charge around 35 euro for breakfast.

Thank you, Christina. We ended up getting the Hotel Sixtytwo with breakfast. The biggest hurdle was finding a place that could accommodate THREE in a room. My 11 year old does not need his own room! I really wanted to stay at the H10 Metropolitan but neither that property nor any of its other ten offer anything but doubles. If only the Fairmont had been located in the city center! I had the best deal with my President's Club membership! Alas...
