Sicily Solo Itinerary Help March 2013

Jump to last reply

I will be traveling solo for the first time. Recently widowed. My husband and I had planned to go back to Italy, but Cancer cancelled our plans. Now I have airline miles that will expire at the end of the year. I need to travel soonest, because I will need to seek employment and once employed, won't have the freedom to travel for awhile.

I'm in my 50s, speak some "travel Italian". I'm thinking March for travel. I would need public transportation.

I have free flight into Rome (not to Sicily, so will take Easyjet or something similar). I can take 2 - 3 wks. I've been to Rome twice before, BTW. I travel light!

I can figure out my lodgings, it is logistics of getting from point A to point B that I need help with.

I would like to see Marsala, Trapani/Erice, Palermo/Montreale, Cefalu, Taormina, Siracusa, Agrigento.

I enjoy photography, and this looks like it could be a nice trip.

Figure landing in Palermo. What order makes the most sense considering public transportation connections? I'm having a hard time making sense of the different bus companies, etc.

Help with this would be so appreciated.

thanks!
