Sicily or Sardinia ?
Hello everyone,
We are two girls, 23 years old, planning to spend our summer holiday in Italy. We are considering Sicily or Sardinia. We are interested in beautiful beaches (which I think could be found in both places), beach parties and nightlife. We are also interested in the prices. Which island is more expensive? Please share your experience and opinions about which island is more suitable for our holiday.
Thank you in advance

Both are safe, don't worry! Sardegna has the most beautiful beaches, visited 3 times but haven't found special night life apart from Porto Cervo if you have too much money to spend! Sicily gives much more history and cultur and much cheaper! For you I would suggest Mondello is Sicily or Alghero in Sardegna.

Thank you everyone for the answer. But what about the regular (not extra expensive) nightlife in both place? Can we find a discotheques and clubs....or some beach parties like in the touristic places in Spain or both places (Sicily and Sardinia) are more romantic, like for a couple?

Echoing what other posters have said, I think Sicily has the better of Sardinia in terms of cultural sites and "things to do" generally.
Sardinia, however, beats Sicily in the beach category hands down. Sardinia is lousy with fantastic beaches, Sicily has but a few, far apart, and often on adjacent smaller islands.
Nightlife won't be extreme on either island, but Sicily has a larger population and therefore larger cities and more choices. Sardinia is pretty quiet overall, but for a family I think it should be fine. You're not looking for Ibiza or Mykonos-level parties, right?

I think you could have a great time in Sardinia, definitely beautiful beaches and if you do a Google search you can see what types of bars/discos there are in the major towns. (they are definitely there)
If you are looking for tons of all night partying with a huge variety of big discos then you are probably better off in Ibiza.

Do know that Sardinia needs a larger budget than Sicily. Especially around Porto Cervo, where (I believe) you will find the best nightlife, if any.
Here's an article on the subject:

just a comment on Sardinia destination:
SARDINIA in the Port towns *with some nightlife" but not known as a Nightlife active area & is very upscale and not at all inexpensive.
I would not think it would be ideal for "beach parties" and
"tons" of options" that you may be happy with.
Many people travel there from Milan and Rome on their yachts. The beaches were beautiful, but you may be a little disappointed at the nightlife. You may want to "google" the town of Porto Cervo and see what is listed on nightlife, disco's etc.
