I'd like to go to Sicily in March, mostly because Italy seemed to begin to get quite crowded begining in April on my last visit.
However, I've heard that there are many hotels & restaurants that do not open until April, or after Easter. Is this true? Can I still have a lovely time in March?
I'm a 40 yr. old woman traveling solo. Thank you for any tips & insights!

Forgot to mention: will hopefully be going to the Amalfi Coast in March as well.
Hotels in the cities in Sicily are open all year round. Hotels in the many of the coastal resorts close for the winter and reopen for Easter. This includes Taormina. However, even in these resort areas, there are hotels which are open all year round. Don't let your concerns about hotels delay a trip to Sicily in March!
