Sicily
My husband and I are beginning planning for next summer's trip from the US to London to Catania. We want to travel on to Siracusa and Palermo, and then flying from either Palermo or Catania to Pisa. My main question at this time is which regional airlines should we be looking at to get from Siracusa to Palermo (or the reverse).

Why are you looking at airlines? There are buses and trains that will let you see some of the countryside. And why are you restricting your visit to Sicily to the three big cities? There is so much more to see.
No doubt skyscanner.com will tell you whether there is actually a flight from Siracusa to Palermo.

hi Caroll,
Using Thursdaysd link, I came up with direct flights from Palermo to Pisa with Ryanair [which is what I think you meant], rather than flying from Siracuse to Palermo which would mean that you missed a lot of the Sicily that you've gone to see.
It's perfectly possible to fly into Catania [which seems to be your plan] then hire a car and drive to Siracuse, [or wait til you leave Siracuse and get there by bus] then drive to Palermo via the Baroque towns, Agrigento, and Marsala [say].
I would want a couple of weeks to make the best of that plan.

We flew Catania to Rome (started in Palermo), and took BluExpress but there were a few options going from here to there from different points in Sicily to different cities on the mainland, if I recall. Including Ryanair,
Check skyscanner.net or whichbudget.com -- will list them all.

Thanks everyone. In fact, my husband and I go to Italy each summer, so ours will not be a trip restricted to Sicily. Additionally, we have visited Sicily twice in the distant past. And also, thanks for the sky scanner and whichbudget prompts.
