Should we take bathing suits to Ireland?
We are leaving for Ireland on Wednesday. We will be staying by Dingle Peninsula. Are there any beaches? Should I even bother to take a bathing suit?

There are several VERY beautiful Blue Flag beaches on the Dingle Penninsula, Inch Strand, of course, but several smaller but equally gorgeous. Having said that... Do you own a wet suit?
Even in July / August, that water is WAY TOO COLD for this Florida resident.

Ditto for the SoCA resident!
But for those of you in more Northern climes it may be fine.
Jen, in Ireland you are never more then 70miles away from a coast so no shortage of beaches wherever you are!
Have fun!

I had to chuckle out loud when I saw this post (not trying to be rude). My husband and I have been living in Ireland for 9 months now and I think I have worn shorts once. Like the other posters stated unless you like cool weather/water I would leave the bathing suit home.

If you make a stop betweeen Shannon & Tralee, stay overnight at Killeline Leisure Park in NewcastleWest (1km south of N-21 on the Old Cork Road. They have a 20m heated indoor swimming pool. They also have a website.
