I will be studying abroad in London next year, and I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion of a short-term apartment... I may be staying with another person, so I would rather find one that is not a studio, but still inexpensive. Our classes will be held at Imperial College in the Kensington area...
Thanks!

Hopefully some of the London fodorites will see your post. Unfortunately most of the rest of us are "London Tourists" and the flats we tend to recommend would not fit your needs. Holiday rentals are meant for very short term lets and are pretty expensive if you are looking for a full school term's stay.
I used to know several estate agents who handle what you are looking for -- but most of my info is several years old.
You need to contact an estate agent or perhaps the college can give you a list of referrals.
Let me recommend two web-sites for you to look at:
www.primelocation.com
www.foxtons.co.uk
I'd imagine, that budget will be your limiting factor rather than type/area. Have a search on the above, and develop a "short-list". Then return here with the areas, and I'll give you a succint appraisal of the pros and cons of that particular location.
Try Oxbridge Apartments at 8 Collingham Road just off Cromwell Road in SW5.
Their website is oxrg.demon.co.uk
I'm familiar with them as short-term lets, but I know some of the inhabitants make deals for much longer stays. We met young people there who were doing a post-grad work-study program and expected to be there for about six months. There were four of them spliting the costs of a 2 BR.
I guess I should clarify -
It will be very short-term (2 weeks), and I while I am concerned with price, I don't need something dirt-cheap, either. (I work full time while going to school, so I am not totally broke!)
Thanks!
Here's a website that lists a lot of different rental agencies:
http://www.londonaccommodation.net/lanapt.htm
For two weeks? That's not short-term dear, that's just a standard holiday rental.
OH - that is different - you really are just looking for a holiday-type letting. There are MANY threads on here about flats rentals in London - do a search and you will find tons of them.
the two cheapest I personally know of are Price apartments and E&E apartments. Price has flates in every price range and some are definitely in the budget range. E&E will have studios -- plenty large enough for 2 since many sleep up to 4, for less than £450 per week and 1-bdrms for £500 per week.
Two years ago there was a large choice of flats as low as £300 per week but most have had major price increases since then.
Check out the Allen House (www.allenhouse.co.uk) in Kensington. Good location just of Kensington High Street.
Hi there...I just got back from staying in a flat in London and I found a great place at London Serviced Apartments. Check out there site at
http://www.londonservicedapartments.co.uk/
They have quite a selection in all different price ranges and locations. You're bound to find something!
Good luck!!!!
If you're only there for two weeks, the Oxbridge should work just fine. Great location with everythng you need nearby, Tube and bus lines very handy.
