Short Review of Hotel Ponte Sisto in Rome
My wife, daughter and I spent 2 nights in the Hotel Ponte Sisto in Rome at the end of April 2008 and I wanted to share our experience with you.
First of all, the service at the Ponte Sisto is first rate. They were so nice and accommodating that we could not have asked for anything more. Our daughter was in Rome for a Spring semester abroad and needed to store her extra luggage somewhere for a few days before we arrived to meet up with her. The Ponte Sisto said "no problem, she can store her luggage here until you check in for no extra charge." This was in stark contrast to our hotel in Paris on the same trip that stated clearly in an email that if we wanted to check out late, we should book an extra night.
They provided a beautiful suite for us that faced the interior courtyard. It was fantastic. It included a jacuzzi that was great. I personally used it 4 times in the 46 hours we were in the hotel!
The breakfast was excellent and included all the standard Italian items as well as typical American items such as bacon and eggs.
They were happy to arrange for taxi's when we needed them and also help out with anything else that we requested.
The location of the hotel is excellent. It's on a side street adjacent to the main bridge into Trestevere and a very short walk to all the main attractions in Rome. You really cannot ask for a better location.
My wife and daughter were very impressed with my ability to select great hotels. In reality, I just listened to the great advice on the Fodor's forum.
Thank you everyone for a great stay in Rome!

I too stayed at Hote Ponte Sisto last year. I was very impressed with the location, hotel, staff, and amenities.
I would caution though not to have a room that faces the street. It can get very noisy from the people coming over the bridge from Traseverte (sp), especially at night when you are ready for bed.
