I will be in Barcelona for several days continuing to Madrid. I might be interested in shopping for leather jackets. Is it possible to get good deals in those cities? If I get a chance to take day trips to places not packed with tourists wondering if I should wait rather than looking at the high end retail stores?

Will welcome any advice for shopping. Thanks

When will you be there. The summer sales begin at the end of June. I'm not too sure that leather jackets are really big this year in Spain, but if they are available, you should be able to find them at El Core Inglés (www.elcorteingles.es).

I would recommend looking for one in Madrid instead of Barcelona because the summer sales in Barcelona end on August 31st but they end in Madrid on the 21st of September. You can try Zara and Massimo Dutti. MD is more high end and while Zara is cheaper, they do sell real leather clothes and boots as well.

Thank you. Will try Madrid. I have worn leather jackets for years normally from Nordstroms but thought I might get better quality leather. I got watchband in Portugal and got very good prices. I can look in Portugal also as will be taking couple of day trips.

You might get better quality at top end shops, but you're also going to pay for it. Clothing isn't cheap in Spain.
