Shannon Airport: B & B?

Hello! Early flight home from Shannon. Any ideas about where to stay close in?
Thanks!

We like to stay in Bunratty on our last night, it's very near the airport. There are a few pubs within walking distance of each other, and there are a Blarney Woolen Mills & Avoca Woolen Mills for your last-minute shopping. Lots of B&Bs on the low road and a couple of hotels. If you do a search for Bunratty B&Bs you will come up with lots of good choices.

It depends on how early your flight is: I second CU's Great Southern recommendation; but I've always found it a bit steep for my budget. Most of the time my return flights are around 11:00 AM, so I stay in either Limerick, close to the Bus/rail station (7:45 AM BusEireann} or Ennis (8:35 AM BusEireann)

I third the Great Southern for a real early flight. I've stayed a few times and it is fine. Or if it isn't a real early flight, look at Carrygerry manor house. It's about a ten minute drive and a lovely location. Bunratty does have many nice B&B's, but you can walk over to the airport from the Great Southern.

Bunratty is about 10-15 minutes from the airport. I have always found Bunratty Lodge to be clean, comfortable and warm. If it is a really early flight then you might want to stay at the Great Southern that everyone else has mentioned.

Thanks, everyone!
Tried 5 different B & B's in Bunratty....all full!
Finally bit the bullet & signed on for the Great Southern Hotel. No doubt, it will be perfect.
Thanks, again!

We stayed at Ashgrove House in Bunratty and found Sheila to be a delightful host. She drove us and picked us up at Bunratty, on our last night. Also, greeted us with an Irish Coffee. A taxi driver picked us up and had us to the airport in ample time for the early flight.

We drove through Adare on our way out of the Shannon airport, and thought it was completely charming. I don't know of any specific B&Bs, but that would be a nice town for your final night!

TarheelsInNj, ya coming to the GTG on the 3rd of June? Would love to hear about your Ireland experience and especially Montepulciano.

Come on, it'll be fun, and you'll meet some nice people and eat & drink some great food & wine.

We stayed at a B&B called Glen Eagles, not the famous one, <[email protected]> and found it quite adequate. It is on the bus line to Shannon Airport and one block from the bridge into Limerick.

We stayed at the Jury's in Ennis on Tuesday night, had a twenty five minute drive a little after 8am. We got a better rate there, Great Southern was 30 euro higher but it is close.

On the previous Sunday morning, we got to the airport in 15 minutes from Ennis.

Budman, that sounds lovely! Unfortunately, I'll be away for a girls' weekend, which I wouldn't miss for the world Perhaps the next time!
