Shannon Airport Area

Jump to last reply

I'll visiting in Ireland this fall and will be flying into the Shannon Airport. I was going to stay in Limerick area because it was close to the airport. We also have rented a car. I have been now told I shouldn't stay in that area because it's not safe and a high crime rate after dark. Could anyone help with an area (city) that would be nice and safe to book hotels in? I would like to feel safe to walk around after dark. I city that's not so busy and easy to drive about would be great. Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated thanks!
