Shangri-La, London

Fodor's front page has a flash about London's newest "it" hotel. Cheapest rooms $799 a night! I love the Shangri-La chain and have been to half a dozen of the hotels (with three more booked in the next 2 months), but this one seems too far out of my price range!

Anybody been here yet? If so, what do you think?

Have been up the Shard and a friend spent the night and said it was amazing, the views are stunning, here are the pics I took from one of the top floors you can visit - they are at the top of this set

The rooms have stunning views but not sure I would pay that price!

Jamikins, Great photos! Thank you. I agree the views must be amazing. But you can see the views from the bar or the viewing deck for a lot less than $800. The Shangri-La in Paris is also too rich for my blood. Love the ones in Kowloon, Bangkok and Penang.

The Shagri-la in Bangkok is kind of worn and slightly dumpy. Don't know about London hotel.

We usually stay at Cliveden. And take the helicopter into London.

Sniff, sniff, sweetie darling.

The Shangri La in London, is nothing like the one in Bangkok. It's brand new and luxurious. ( the lobby is lovely)

I'll settle for the Haymarket, thanks. No helicopters required; simply our usual driven limo.
