My wife and I need a hotel for 3 nights in May in Seville and we didn't want to spend more than 80 Euros a night. Hotel Amadeus is full. Does anyone have any other hotel recommendations?

I stayed at the Amadeus, but considered several others in the same neighborhood and price range, including the Alcantara (www.hotelalcantara.net), and the Hosteria del Laurel (www.hosteriadellaurel.com)

This has links to many hostals (family-run small hotels, not youth hostels) in Sevilla. The Hostal Arias looks quite nice for the price, and is in the Barrio Sant Cruz.

If you type "hotel amadeus AND sevilla" into the text box at the top of this page, you'll pull up lots of threads which also mention other hotels that might work for you.

I think that's good advice as I iknow I read numerous posts on here with budget hotel ideas. I also stayed at the Amadeus and saw tons of hostals around it (one right next door), although they may be more budget than you are wanting.

I have also read decent reviews on the Hotel Maestranza (it looks ok from outside) and it is a very central and convenient location near the cathedral. I think its web site says it is only 1* but it looks like 2* to me, it's in your price range, I think.

I don't know the Spanish hotel system well enough to know the stars that well -- I think Maribel (or Olga) said Amadeus was a 3* and it seemed that way to me, but I noticed it only had 2* on the door by the name. Anyway, Maestranza has good comments on tripadvisor. It has all the amenities you would expect (TV, phone, safe, private bath, elevator, etc, even AC). At least I am assuming the one star by the name is their rating, maybe it's decoration.

We stayed at Hotel Acor MonteOlivos on c/Monte Olivet fairly close to Santa Justa Rail Station. I normally wouldn't recommend it but the rooms have Air Conditioning and there is a small swimming pool out back. I guess that makes it a 3-star property but marginally.

It was the only thing we could find (we insisted on 3-* for Air Conditioning) - it was about 95F and it turned out to be adequate. After dinner we would take a swim and a nap and go out again around 19:00.

You might try Petrabax.com. They sell Bancotel vouchers, which would be within your budget, but it may be a bit late for May. Maybe try their 800 number and see what they could get you.

Hi Dandrews - my friend and I stayed at Hostal Redes recently. We got a private bath with two beds. The hostal is newly rennovated and it was quite comfortable and very clean. I dont know abotu air conditioning.
But we spent about 42E per night.

I meant to also add that it was a private room with private bath for 42E for the both of us. It was also within walking distance of the cathedral (less than 10 minutes walk) and to the Barrio Sta Cruz (about 15 minutes walk)

I realize dan's trip was in May, this post is for anybody else looking for similar upper budget accomodations. I just returned from Spain and while in Seville stayed at Hosteria del Laurel. We had a triple room for 85 Euros. Located in Barrio Santa Cruz, 3 minutes from Cathedral, Giralda, etc... Clean, comfortable, great breakfast included, great ambience, highly recommended. If anything, go there for dinner; outstanding restaurant. For the literary types, Jose Zorrilla refers to this Hosteria in his novel "Don Juan Tenorio". Loved Sevilla!
