Sestri Levante Hotel Suggestions

Hi - after searching for posts on hotels that people have stayed at in Sestri Levante I haven't had much luck. Anyone have any recomendations? Slowtrav has a couple listed but not much and the review of the Hotel Miramare is poor...We typically like 3-4 star and wouldn't mind a nice beach or ocean view.

Sestri Levante is our sister city in Italy (Santa Cruz, CA) and we are looking forward to 2 days there in October.

Thanks!

Hmmm ! It has been some time but I seem to recall Villa Balbi--that is close. It is a pretty village.

We decided after looking at numerous hotels in Sestri Levante to skip it this trip - for what it is worth to others looking for information on the area here are our findings:

Celeste - Booked
Miramare - 190 EURO Double (seaview)
Vis a Vis - 195 EURO Rooms
Grand Hotel dei Castelli - over 230 EURO

We did decide on the great looking town of Lerici and then had a hard time choosing between Hotel Florida, Hotel Shelly, and Hotel Venere Azzurra - we have booked Venere Azzurra with a sea view for 105 Euro and are really looking forward to that part of our trip - we will report back when we get back!

This will make our trip down to Toscana a little easier also, and we can visit the same areas around liguria very easily.

Thanks for the help Bob!
