I often see reduced prices for Seniors in Spain, but wonder if these are only for EU Seniors.
If not, what ID is required to purchase tickets - only passport? Thank you for any advice.

Senior discounts are available to anyone old enough to enjoy them. Your driver's license or Passport work just fine.
This reminds me of when I bought a ticket to get in somewhere--it might have been that huge cathedral in Sevilla. I asked about paying the senior rate, and the woman at the ticket desk wanted to see my I.D. I pulled out a lock of my white hair to show her I was a senior, but she still wanted to see I.D.
Maybe you just didn't look old enough. It's a problem for some of us, but not for others...
I get the OAP discount in NI just based on my appearance. Sigh.
Thank you for the information. We are flattered when we are asked if we are Seniors even though we have the right hair colour!
Some discounts in Spain are for EU citizens only (Ciudadanos de la UE), which should be stated at the ticket office. The usual Spanish for seniors is Jubilados y Pensionados, the retired and pensioners, with the age range of 60 or 65.
The best discounts are at the theaters! Sometimes for specific days or times and they are for all seniors!
No discount at the Palace in Madrid.. Wrong passport...not Spanish. Renfre gives discounts with the purchase of gold card and I found it paid for itself the first trip (5Euros). Well worth it..Ask anywhere and you may be accomodated. Paradors also have been available. Look on their web site for specials.
