Does anyone know how elaborately Semana Santa is celebrated in Madird? We will be in Madrid on Sabdao Santo, the Saturday before Easter. Many years ago I was in Sevilla for Semana Santa and this was the biggest night for processions, with them lasting all night until dawn. It was unforgetable. Is it the same in Madrid? Where can we go to get the most atmosphere and see the most processions?
Many thanks in advance to all who respond.

I googled your title and came up with last year's calendar. scroll down and there is a map which one assumes should be fairly accurate for this year. on another website it said there was no publication yet, but i think if you keep searching there must be one by now

the madrid tourist office, I hope, will have one for you on their website.
It should be impressive.
The atmosphere in Madrid is pretty different, many Madrileños head south/east to the Mediterranean beaches with dreams of returning to work on Monday bronzed.

All throughout the week there are also innumerable sacred music concerts held at churches and historic spaces around the city. On Sunday 24 April, the final day of Holy Week, everyone’s attention will turn to Plaza Mayor. There, at 12 midday, the now traditional tamborrada will sound. This joyous chorus of drums will this year be provided by the music section of the Cofradía de Jesús Atado a la Columna brotherhood from Villamayor de Gállego (Zaragoza).
