Self Catering Accomodation in Dordogne..

Jump to last reply

Hi All: We're planning our family trip for mid-august 2013. And I guess we're already finding it pretty hard to find self catering cottages/apartments around Daglan/Domme. Being vegetarian we really have no choice but to go self catering. The issue we're grappling with is that the ones we really liked are not taking credit cards. They are asking for direct bank transfer of funds which we are just really uncomfortable doing. So my questions were:

a. Is it pretty typical for vacationers to pay the monies - damage deposit plus rent - through direct bank transfer? Especially is this common when folks are coming from overseas to Dordogne area?

b. Do you know of reasonable priced self catering that would be available and take credit card? our budget is about E400-E600. We're not looking for 5-star accomodation but we are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids).

I have searched Vrbo, flipkey, tripadvisor. Am i missing any other places that could work?

Thanks so much! Chitra
