Self cater castle in Scotland?
Hi - I am looking for a castle (or similar) to rent in Scotland, in Sept, with at least 6 bedrooms. Any recommendations? Prefer the central part of the country to serve as a base for touring the highlands and coasts.

Ren, I've rented this sort of thing over the years. IMHO, the best agents are Large Holiday Homes, Discover Scotland, and Cottages and Castles.
You might also look at Celtic Castles, and Scott's Castles.
I really like Lochindorb Lodge for the sort of thing you're talking about. We've been there twice at New Year and it was bloody freezing, but it would be lovely in September.
Mostly we stay on the coast, not centrally, but I've been doing this for years so I've looked at most in the whole country. Do ask if you want to know about somewhere specific.

Green Dragon - Monarch of the Glen is one of my favorite shows as well. Love the characters and the scenery is amazing.
RenP - wherever you stay, you really should rent Monarch of the Glen to watch before your trip. We found it at our local library.
