Sea Sickness + Russia River Cruises

Has anyone who experiences sea sickness been on a Russia River Cruise??? I would be very interested to know what Cruise Line you were on and what ship you were on, and what problems if any you may have had! We have read many wonderful comments on the Viking River Cruise line from this site and are wondering if anyone who suffers from sea sickness has been on one of the boats and how they did! Thanks.

Several years ago we went on the Uniworld river cruise from St. Petersburg to Moscow. I'm prone to seasickness but had no trouble at all, even though we did encounter one night of rough water during a storm. Thankfully, I was asleep so it didn't bother me. If I had been awake it might have been a problem. Normally, there is little sensation of rocking but I would encourage you to have on hand whatever potion you use to combat seasickness. As I said, our cruise was several years ago and I suspect there are more modern, stable boats being used nowadays. I don't think seasickness will be a day-to-day problem. By the way, this was one of the most fascinating trips we have ever taken. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Not at all. I also did the 11 day S.Petersburg to Moscow cruise last September and nobody got seasick.
And like crckwc, I loved this trip so much and for me it was also one of the most fascinating trips of my life. Amazing!!! You will love it.

the only time you should experience rough water is on a lake. When we took the same cruise we experienced a full storm on Lake Ladoga and we bounced around quite alot.

I just stayed in bed hoping the storm would abate soon but after hours it hadn't. I was afraid the ship we were on, which wasn't very new at the time, would hold up. I finally got so tired of worrying that I just pretended I was in a giant cradle and went to sleep, letting fate take over.

I think it was a Uniworld cruise, but I, too, am sure they have better stabilized boats now.
