SE Turkey tours, Gazientep, Urfa...
I am planning a tour to South East Turkey, Nemrut Dag, Urfa, Harran, Gazientep, etc in June and am guessing I should use a tour. I've been emailing Arsan tours out of Gazientep for a 4 night tour of SE Turkey. Do you know of his reputation? He wants me to wire money into his account, says he can't take credit cards because of security reasons, so I have no protection against non-compliance on his part. So, do you know about him? do you know other tour operators that would include Urfa, Nemrut Dag and Harran (but not the one that drives from Cappadocia). We could drive by ourselves from Gazientep, but we are older and speak no Turkish. Advice please1

I do not know Arsan Tours, and although I believe that they want the cash payment probably to avoid banking charges and not declare the income for tax purposes, i see no reason why you should take the risk.
Many of my local friens have used Fest travel for their local and international travels because of their high level of expertise and the quality of their guides. My wife and I (50 and 65) still like to do all ourselves.
I think that they are more expensive than other tours but hopefully worth the extra cost.
I just looked at their site and found that they have an individual tour that starts in Gaziantep and lasts five days. They have an English site also.
I think that June is a very good time for this trip.
I am also hoping that you will post your trip report afterwards.

On 2 occassions, we have used credo tours, based in Istanbul. The owner is Sirma and she set up tours for us to the Black Sea area and eastern Turkey. She is superb in her arrangements and has been in business for many years; You can find her web site on the internet.

You can easily get to those cities via public transportation. I did Diyarbakir-Hasankeyf-Mardin-Urfa-Harran-Nemrut-Antep using dolmuses and inter city buses. I met an older retired couple from England in Mardin who was doing something similar on their own also. I found the people to be very helpful, and the only Turkish word I spoke was "Merhabah"
