Scotland 5 day itinerary

Hi
I'm planning a five day trip to Scotland which can be extended probably if the time isn't enough
Anyway I have narrowed down what I want to see
I'm planning to fly to Edinburgh from London
places that I have in mind are :
Urquhart castle, eilean Donan, lochness, highlands and glencoe
However I was trying to find tours I could take to these places but most of them are from Inverness and only a few options from Edinburgh
Now I want to know if I should stay a few days in Inverness instead of staying entirely in Edinburgh?
If not then are there any good tour options from Edinburgh that would cover some if not all of the aforementioned places?
Thirdly is there a place I should or maybe omit from my itinerary?

Look at Rabbies www.rabbies.com for their 1 to 5 days tours from Edinburgh.

They are great and are small grouos

Hi

I did look into train option but the ticket prices seem a lot more? I would prefer trains as well but from what I see the flights are half the price

Any links for train tickets?

Not sure what you are talking about. flights to where? trains to where?

Rabies is not trains OR planes.

They operate small group tours in mini buses.

Also please clarify if you plan to fly from LHR or Gatwick to Edinburgh, or if you're planning to spend time in London then flying to Edinburgh. It's a hassle and more time consuming to fly to Edinburgh if you're already in London.

' Look at Rabbies www.rabbies.com for their 1 to 5 days tours from Edinburgh'

So this would require me to stay at another place other than Edinburgh right for the duration of the tour?

Are you spending time in London before traveling to Edinburgh? If so, you do NOT want to fly up to Scotland. It would be faster and easier to take the train.

>>So this would require me to stay at another place other than Edinburgh right for the duration of the tour?<<

The tour would start in Edinburgh and end in Edinburgh. If it is a one-day tour you would sleep in Edinburgh.

But if it was a longer tour you would sleep in the villages/towns where the tour stops each evening. Have you ever been on a group tour before?

Actually I'll be living in London permanently

I would def prefer a train but the fares that I saw were a lot more compared to flying.

And no I don't have much of an experience with any group tours only one day trip that I did in Athens

Anyway thanks so much for the help!

When is your trip? If you are looking at train fares for the next few days they will be VERY expensive because the cheap tickets sell out weeks ahead.

If your trip is more than 12 weeks from now -- wait and look at the fares about 12 weeks before and you will see some very cheap fares.

Then you may have waited too late to get the best fares.

Having said that - I just looked at April 5 and many train times can still be had for £55.
