Schengen 90/180 Rule - Question on Trip Spanning Two Periods

Jump to last reply

I was in France from February 12 -17, 2015 and I am supposed to go on a cruise of the fjords in Norway from August 8 - 15, 2015. (My last trip to any Schengen country prior to February was several years ago). I was planning to fly into Sweden around August 1, 2015 and spend a few days in Stockholm and Copenhagen before the cruise. However, 180 days from my date of entry into France falls on August 11, 2015, which is in the middle of the cruise. I won't come anywhere close to spending 90 days total in the Schengen region during the current 180 day period (or the next 180 day period, for that matter), but I can't figure out how the 90/180 rule would apply to a trip spanning two 180-day periods. Is this potentially problematic, or should I be OK since I will be there for less than 90 days in both periods? Leaving the Schengen region on the 180th day and re-entering is not an option, since I would be on the cruise at that time.
