We are planning a trip to Scandinavia, including Iceland on the way there and a stop in Ireland on the way back. We have been to Ireland before but not the other countries. We would like to see Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and view Bergen and the fjords. How much is too much to try and see, what is the most cost efficient way to travel between countries, etc? Suggestions?

How much time do you have; where are you coming from; do you like to run around and pack sights in or do you prefer to kick back and relax?
For this adventure, you're going to need at least 3 weeks, considering you're thinking of visiting 5 countries.
How much time do you have? I've been to Norway, Iceland and Ireland. Will say that Iceland was probably my favorite of the three, although all were great.
Hi
You can check out places like Kjerag http://gardkarlsen.com/kjerag.htm and Preikestolen (Pulpit rock) http://gardkarlsen.com/preikestolen.htm and they both give an amazing view to the Lyse fjord.
For the fjords I can recommend a stop in my hometown Stavanger

I think it is probably too ambitious a trip given all the travel time.Iceland will stay since we are traveling from the USA and we loved Ireland and want to return.Maybe Belgium and Paris is easier to manage. Interesting comment about Iceland-what do people like about it the most? It looks so interesting and different!
Have you thought of Bergen, Norway in a Nutshell tour to Oslo. Train to Stockholm. Overnight ferry to Helsinki and home from Helsinki. That would be a great trip. You could even do a day trip to Tallinn Estonia from Helsinki on the fast ferry.
Sorry - I meant to include Iceland as your first stop.
