It reads that you are allowed a total of 6kg carry-on, no mention of plus a personal item. I don't think it is worth the risk.
I am flying them and the way I understand it from reading the website is that I am allowed ONE item total to take on board with a weight limit of 6kg.
I plan on taking a small rolling briefcase type bag and pack my purse.
The bag will just about fit my netbook, my personal items including medicine and any other electronics such as my quad band phone, my GPS, my Kindle and the various chargers.
I assume you mean the purse will fit within the carry-on and the 6 kg weight limit. The only way to get anything else on board is to make it something you wear - and don't take off on the flight - and that doesn't mean a shoulder bag.
nytraveler. I plan on packing my purse in my checked luggage.
The small roller bag is all I am planning to take on board besides tha things I am wearing. It easily fits under the seat. I assume that when they say one item it means just that.
Otherwise I think they would specifically state one carry on item of 6kg or less and one personal item, which they do not.
