Sardinia, Italy and surrounding islands
My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy. We are going to be taking a plane from Rome to Oblia and take a bus to the Port of Palau. From there we want to go to Maddalena Island. My question is about boating and beaches. We saw the pink sand beach of Budelli. I know that it's a national park area and you need a permit. (How would we get this and does this give us permission to anchor and go onto the beach?) We also saw the following beaches as an option. I know some are not the same islands. How many could we see in a few days?
Testa di Polpo
Cala dellow Spalmatore(gorgeous)
Monti dell Arena
Cala Francese
Cala Coticcio
Cala Serena
Spiaggiadel Relitto
Cala lunga
Cala Corsara
Can you anchor in the water near these and go onto the beaches? I don't know the laws as I'm from the US. We planned on renting a boat for a few days so we could explore these islands and beaches. I would be happy with just boating around but would like to have my feet in the sand as well. Thank you for you help and advice.

Now that I've done some more research I think we are going to go down the coast and stay somewhere in the middle of the east coast. Anyone rented a boat from palmasera? Best beaches around that area?

Good thing you didn't head to the "pink" beach…sadly it's no longer pink due to tourists taking away the shells to such a degree, that it devastated the area.
I usually stay in Golfo Aranci, and took a boat ride from Palau all around the islands, which stopped off at the islands in the area and let us dive in several times during the day.
In Palau there are tons of boats that you can rent, or have someone accompany you.

To southeuropetravel1- I finally found someone who appreciates Golfo Aranci!! I have been going there for more than 20 years, and I came across no one on this forum that has been to Golfo. I feel like I know it like the back of my hand. Congratulations on a wise choice!
