My husband and I are celebrating our 20 year anniversary next year August 2013. We have heard so many wonderful things about these hotels. We have decided we are going to spend 6 days at each for a total of 12 days in Santorini. I am wondering what room is the best at these two locations. I want view, private pool(if possible), king bed. We are not on a budget so price is not a factor for us. Any suggestions for day trips to other islands? Would love to hear of any must see attractions and things to do as well! Thanks so much!

I suggest you go to tripadvisor.com and find the reviews for these hotels, then send a private message to those reviewers who might have the answers you seek.
Daytrips are very difficult because of the ferry schedule. Most days you'll only have a couple of hours on one of the closest islands before you'll need to be back at the port for the return ferry. Those islands are Ios, Naxos and Paros. Ios is closest so depending on the day and the ferry your time there would be longest in duration. Occasionally there will be a late-evening ferry passing that might allow you a longer stay. Go here to check: http://www.gtp.gr but be sure to check locally once you're there so you get the most current information/schedules.
I think it's very good advice to look at recent reviews on tripadvisor. We stayed at Perivolas four years ago and things may of course have changed radically, but were not impressed with anything other than the incredible caldera view. The staff was indifferent, the food mediocre, our room had plumbing issues that left a weird moldy odor everywhere, and the bed was a thin foam mattress on a stone slab. For the amount of money we were spending, we were quite disappointed. As I said, please remember this was four years ago. Hopefully, things have changed.
I have checked trip advisor and both properties are highly recommended. I couldn't find what room/rooms were superior. I just wanted to know on this forum if anyone has stayed at these properties and if I could find out the best rooms at each location. I want to reserve asap as I have read it books up quickly!
