I will be taking a weekend trip to San Marino shortly. I have read somewhere that it is a communist city-state/country. How does this show with the people who live there? Do anyone know if they choose to be communist or has this been defined by the Italian hierarchy? I do not know anything about San Marino and am interested to hear more about it from those of you who have ventured there yourselves.

If you put San Marino in the search function above you will find quite a few threads about it including some trip reports.
San Marino is a separate country, so I doubt that the Italian hierarchy has defined anything much about it.
I don't know much about the political structure of San Marino, except that it claims to be the world's oldest republic.
We spent one night and part of a day there, and the people seemed pretty capitalist to me - plenty of locally-owned hotels, restaurants and stores.
