San Isidro 2011

Hi, folks.

We'll be in Madrid May 12-17, and we want to really take in the Feria de San Isidro. Has anyone seen this year's schedule? Any tips for folks who have never been?

Thanks, Robert. I'm really looking for a schedule for all the surrounding events. The first link is great, but it's for last year's festival. The second link seems to focus on bullfights, which don't really interest me.

The first link takes you to the info for San Isidro 2011 (this year), at least it did when I tried it.

FIESTAS DE SAN ISIDRO 2011 (www.esmadrid.com/sanisidro/)

At the top of the page is a link to the schedule of events during San Isidro:
http://www.esmadrid.com/es/agenda-madrid

Bullfighting is a major part of the fiesta of San Isidro.

Thank you, Robert!

I'd bookmarked that page weeks ago, and for some reason my web browser gave me the old version until I hit refresh. I'm not sure what happened, but this is exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you!

Be sure to visit the superb little Vistillas park where the patron saint is paraded on the 15th. Open air party from the 12th to 15th, concerts etc. Also fabolous views of the sunset and the Guadarrama mountains from the terrace outside Restaurante Ventorillo.

The central Plaza Mayor is turned into an open air concert venue. A full programme of shows and music the whole week of San Isidro with activities begining at 1100 and going on into the late evening/night. On Sunday the Spanish army serves an enormous cocido madrileño for the public in Plaza Mayor.
