This is the first and very rough cut as a proposed 9-10 day driving trip to Ireland.
arrive Dublin - 2 nights
drive Dublin to Kinsale - stay 2nts Kinsale
drive Kinsale to Dingle - stay 2nts Dingle
drive to Galway(?) - stay 2nts Galway
drive back to Dublin - overnight and home
Would you stay in Galway or another village nearby? Have heard that Galway is a tourist trap of the nth degree. I'm assuming it will take a full day to drive with stops from Dublin to Kinsale. Am I alotting enough time in each location? We are not crazy about moving lodging every night. Hoping to find lodging in the 125-150e/night range in late April or early May 2008 (3* hotels or guest houses). Is that reasonable -

If Galway is a tourist trap, what does that make Kinsale or Dingle, where tourism is a far more important element of the local economy? I don't rate Galway a tourist trap, but a small city where there is a lot of tourism along with many other activities (industry, education, administrative centre, market town, etc.).
Overall, it's workable.
What do you propose to do from a base in Galway?
