Salzburg transportation - to/from Schloss Leopoldskron to Old Town

Jump to last reply

We have hotel reservations at the Schloss Leopoldskron and I'm trying to figure out the best method to get between there and Salzburg's Old Town. We will have a rental car, but I'm wondering if it's a hassle to drive and find parking.

It looks like at least a 20-minute walk. Anyone know if it's an easy walk? Is it flat? Is it safe (especially in the late evenings)?

Or are we better off taking a taxi?

I also asked the hotel and they suggested taxi. If we end up going back and forth a lot, though, like for sightseeing in the day, then back for dinner at night, that costs adds up, so maybe we should just drive ourselves. They also suggested the Hop on Hop off bus, but that route looks like it takes a long time.
