Salzburg itinerary review

Jump to last reply

I'l have three days in Salzburg a week from this Thursday. I enjoy art museums, castles, palaces, etc. I think this is pretty doable, but just looking for any feedback and/or thoughts on lunch places. I think I'll walk nearly everywhere, aside from the Saturday going to Hellbrunn, where I'll grab the bus. Maybe I should bus each day from hotel to center?

Arrive 9 am Thursday from Munich

Walk to hotel - Motel One near train station
Francisian church
Residenz
residenplatz
Quick lunch? Bazar or Tomaselli (?) Where to get something light and quick like a salad?
Salzburg museum open until 5
Salzburg cathedral - open until 7
Altermarkdt walk
Getreidegasse street walk
Goldener Hirsh for Dinner - 8 pm
Gay bar on way back? Suggestions?

Friday

Mirabell Schloss and Gardens
Quick lunch somewhere?
Tour to Hallstatt leaving basically from there at 1 pm until 6:30
Capuchinmonstery and hill
Dinner at Shrimps? (don't have reservation) Somewhere else? Want a break from all the heavy German/Austrian food I'll be having
Hotel Sacher for dessert and walk back

Saturday
St Peters Church - 8 am
Hohnzalzburg
lunch?
Hellbrunn
Dinner at Immlaucher Sky 7 pm
Depart 9 pm from train station - is this cutting it too close?

Thanks!
