salt mines near Berchtesgaden; activities around Salzburg

Jump to last reply

Will be traveling to Salzburg for 3 days; Berchtesgaden for 2. We're wanting to go into the salt mines. I remember going into the mines close to Berchtesgaden as a child. As I am researching current tours of the salt mines, I can not determine whether or not the tours from Salzburg go into the same salt mines near Berchtesgaden, or if there are other mines located closer to Salzburg.

Also, suggestions as to best prioritize our outings while in the area, and which ones are closer to Berchtesgaden verses Salzburg:
Eagle's Nest
Boat Ride on Konigsee
Salt Mines
Ice Caves
Mozart Concert
Hohensalzburg Fortess
Hallstall
Sound of Music Tour (I do love the movie and as a child was in Salzburg for it's orginial premier).

Much thanks,
