Russia

We are considering visiting Russia in June. Has anybody used a travel company that does escorted land tours named: ''Express to Russia'?

Thanks

nordicsaga.com has a land tour to St Petersburg from Helsinki. Grand Circle Tours has a river cruise in Russia. However, I have not heard of the tour you are asking about.

I just looked at the above website. Sounds interesting - the tour I was looking at was a private one - with driver for 8 nights/9 days. Seems a bit pricey though. Guess that's because it's private. Never been on a totally private tour - had a guide for an afternoon in Budapest, but otherwise have raveled independently. Don't know if my husband and I want to be with a stranger for 9 days. But, then again, it's Russia and I'm not sure we could handle the language barrier on our own.

With regards to me I`ve never ordered private guide for long time/all time. And drive a car in big city it`s rather less comfortable, I mean jams.
This is the the best decision to have different guides for different circumstances.

Why not to book the flight and the hotel through some of on-line booking sites like Expedia, Hotels.com or Booking.com? No need afraid language barrier for there are a lot of people in Russia speaking English well. Besides there are englishspeaking stuff in the hotels of 3, 4 and, of couse, 5 stars. You can use the guide service providing by the hotel to organize your days like you want. So you visit only those places you want and you pay only for those hours you take the guide servise.
