Running in Rome - anyone jogged along the Appian Way?

Jump to last reply

I will be in Rome next month, which is great except for the fact that I'm training for a marathon and need to get in a very long run (as in, 20 miles) during my visit. I'm thinking of running along the Appian Way - if I go out and back, I should be able to get pretty close to my goal.

Has anyone else done this or done something like this or have any thoughts on whether my plan is crazy or not? An alternative is to do 6 laps around Villa Doria Pamphili (which would be beautiful and convenient but perhaps very boring).

Thanks for your thoughts!
