My favorite rental site is www.vrbo.com - vacation rentals by owner although many are managed by an agency. There are many in the Luberon including Roussillon.
I noticed on another posting that you rented through www.theLuberon.com at one point and seemed happy. I'm looking at them and would like to know if your experience (or any other readers) was positive or if there were any problems that I should be looking for - slow return of damage deposit, house not ready or not as billed, that sort of stuff. I'm always leary of sending money to an unknown but the site is great and the houses look wonderful. Thanks for your input.

Theluberon.com places are managed by Paolo di Paolis - while for obvious reasons, we've never stayed at one of his properties, we know quite a few people who have and you can rest assured that he does everything in a very professional manner and you won't have any problems at all.

I met him and his wife a number of years ago when previewing. I also had rented his place and then had to cancel due to my husband's illness. Very nice people. Lovely place...both places...

I second the compliments regarding Paolo. He was very responsive via email everytime I had a new question or concern. Everything about our house rental in Menerbes was exceptional. Our stay was magical.
