Rota, Spain: Getting There
I plan to be in Spain by the end of September. I am going to be there for quite a while...at least eight months. I will be in Rota. This is the plan: Fly into Madrid then fly to Jerez de la Frontera then what? I will have a few bags with personal items so I'm not too sure about taking buses or trains. What about taxis? I understand Rota is about 26-30 miles from Jerez de la Frontera.

I saw this on military webiste. not sure how recent the prices are
Civilian taxi service to Naval Station Rota is available 24 hours a day. Prices range from approximately 55 Euros (from 0600 €“ 2159) and 65.00 Euros (from 2200 €“ 0559).

you could also sign up at www.blablacar.com and see if anyone is traveling that day in your direction. it is a very inexpensive way to get around!

Thanks for the responses. I'll check it out-Shuttle Direct seems to be a good option. I'm not going to the base but maybe staying in a small hotel near it until I can find a place to stay.

Are you doing this on a whim, or do you have a plan? You do know that you need a visa if you plan on staying longer than 90 days (unless you're in the military and are on assignment).
All of the airlines have limits, including Iberia.
