Rondanini Apartment in Rome

We are visiting Rome in Sept. and are considering this apt.
http://www.sleepinitaly.com/files/apt_rondanini.html

Has anyone stayed there within the last year? Could you give us your opinion on its location, facilities, etc.?

Grazie!

I guess I should've added that I heard there was a bad smell in the apartment and wanted to see if that was true or not...would not want to stay somewhere that smelled bad!

ivillinois, do a search for it on here. You will find a discussion on the apartment and the odor thing. I know NeoPatrick stayed there.

I had a reservation, but at the last minute sleepinitaly switched me - NOT a good experience - so unfortunately I can't give you first hand experience.

I did a search, but the posts were old and I wondered if the problem had been rectified

Maybe I have a simpler question...what would you prefer, this apartment or the Hotel Parlamento? Have reserved the hotel, but don't want to cancel it if the apt. isn't a better option, Thanks

One more shot for opinions of this apartment...and possibly sleepinitaly...do people have problems with them?

My husband and I stayed at the Rondanini apartment in October 2007.
I hated it ! The shower does not have a drain trap. We had read that you could cover the drain with a coffee cup and the smell would go away.
Not so for us. Despite the coffee cup over the drain, keeping the bathroom door closed, and running the fan all the time, the smell of sewer gas did not go away.
The apartment had other issues as well, and the owner told us she was
"going to renovate it because she had to", and a working frigo was delivered as we were leaving. DH pointed out every problem he could find to her, and if all the issues have been fixed, this would be a nice apartment to rent as the location is wonderful. I personally prefer a hotel with a nice breakfast, now to an apartment.

Thanks for the reply! We already have a booking at the Hotel Parlamento which is in the same general area so I think we'll stick with that...that is unless I hear bad news about it, too!
