Rome/Sorrento/Amalfi Coast - looking for hotel advice
Hi
We are heading to Italy in June for 8 days and planning on flying to Rome and heading directly to Sorrento and spending two nights there (maybe a day trip to Capri). We're then thinking of heading to Amalfi for 3 nights, then back up to Rome for the final 3 nights. We're in our late 30's and are looking for some nice places to stay - but reasonably priced: no more than $300 US/night. Would like nice sea views in both Sorrento and Amalfi; would love a pool in Amalfi; and would love to be close to the Spanish steps in Rome.
Any suggestions on places to stay?
Thanks so much!

Hey Babyflower,
Wondering if you could save some time by flying into Naples (Sorrento) then head to Amalfi; then Rome via Salerno (or visa versa)??
I am planning a similar trip & this was one of the suggestions brought out through one of my posts. It might gain you some extra time for sight-seeing. Just a thought if this is feasible.

Similar dilemma here. I have to fly in and out of Rome and have a total of 9 days. Want to leave the last 3 for Rome because my flight out is early, leaving 6 nights in Sorrento. I was going to day trip out of Sorrento but now wondering if I should do 3 nights in Sorrento and 3 in Amalfi or Positano. Can't decide whether it's worth all the hotel switching or not.

Mykidsmom99 and Jeangail:
We were at the A.C. in september 2009 for a week and were perfectly happy staying in only one place(Amalfi); but could have done equally well in Positano or even Sorrento. You can see all our activities in my report:

In the AC really all distances are short and public transport is very good(of couse depending of the month may be you will be standing in a bus).Anyway you will enjoy,as every thing is sooo beautyful....
