I'll rant about Buccone - - as I have done here before. For me, it's quite literally a highlight of Rome.

Perhaps a search here on this forum for the other names will yield similar information.

Best wishes,

Rex

Two years ago, I went to a number of wine shops in the centro storico looking for a bottle of Sagrantino di Montefalco for the Roman friends I was staying with. I finally found it at an enoteca off Piazza del Parlamento, but I remember a different name.

Having just checked the Pagine gialle, I realize that it is, indeed, the Al Parlamento, except that the other wine shops I had been to had recommended it to me under the name Achilli, which is the owner's name.

If Buccone is the one on Via del Corso , nr Pza de Popoli, it is a real treat! The staff is very pleasant and knowledgable and it was fun to taste various wines with them. Good prices on hard liquors too! It's an altogether neat place!

Hmmm... I just realized that I said "rant" when I guess the correct verb should be "rave"! I loved the place. Sorry if it wasn't apparent.
