Rome to Lucca by train

Jump to last reply

Trying to weigh in the options for train ride from Rome to Lucca. After some search here are the options i can find, please let me know which route is better or if there is any other alternative please let me know that as well.

Roma Termini - Florence SMN - Lucca ==> 3 hours travel time
Roma Termini - Pisa Centrale - Lucca ==> 3 hours 30 mins travel time

1. Between the two routes, which one is more scenic?
2. Is there anything we need to be aware of while carrying luggage's? Does each compartment in the train have luggage racks or only some compartments are marked for luggage?
3. How much time will it take to do transfer at Florence or Pisa Centrale for trains to Lucca?
4. Any other things we need to be aware of?

Thanks!
