Rome: Taxi cost on Friday morning
Two of us are planning to catch a taxi from Piazza della Chiesa Nuova to Termini tomorrow around 9:30. Any idea how much this should cost? I don't want to get ripped off by a driver hoping to take advantage of a couple of young female tourists. I asked our apartment owner - he said it should take about ten minutes, but wasn't sure of the cost. We'll have one carryon suitcase plus a shoulder bag each.
Thanks in advance!

Bear in mind if you phone for a taxi, there will be more on the meter than the start rate.
If you get in a taxi at a stand, make sure the meter is set on the start rate.
I just got back from Rome, taxi from top of Via Veneto to Pantheon was €9.50, two other taxis were in the same range for similar distances. If we were ripped off, I didn't notice.
It's hard to predict the exact charge because of the standing charge while stopped in traffic i.e. meter still ticks over but at a slower rate than when moving.
