Rome in Sept/Oct or Dec/Jan?

Jump to last reply

We've decided to visit Rome during daughter's school break this year. She has breaks both the last week of Sept/first two weeks October and last week Dec/first two weeks Jan. Which is a better time to enjoy Rome? I do not enjoy city sightseeing when it is extremely hot (nor crowds...not sure which is worse) but cold does not bother us at all and we actually enjoy Europe further north tremendously in that winter break window. But my concern is whether the Christmas holiday brings crowds to Rome? Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!!!
