You have three kids so you will need get a five person family room (very rare to find in hotels) or a triple and a double. No way, I going out on a limb, are you going to find that configuration of rooms for $200, especially around the Piazza Navona. Since you are only needing it for one night, the apartment rental option isn't a good one, unless you get lucky and find one that will allow a one night stay. Check Slowtrav.com. The Santa Chiara Hotel near the Pantheon has a family apartment. It MIGHT sleep five, but I'm sure it is more than $200 a night.

Hotel Genio is a gem; one block from Piazza Navonna; pretty roof-top terrace for snack/cocktails at sunset or breakfast; reasonable, part of a larger chain; quiet as well. Around 200 euros per night but this was in March, large baths, good service and breakfast included.

DAX, are you referring to the Grand Hotel de la Minerva? That was once a Crowne Plaza, then a Sheraton, and now is unaffiliated with any major chain so far as I can see. The only Crowne Plaza in Rome now is in a relatively remote area beyond the Vatican.

Try http://www.residenzacanali.com/ - we stayed here last December and it was great. Simple, clean, good sized room and a location you can't beat. They have two rooms on the 4th floor each with a terrace and the rooms are separated by a small landing. Highly recommended.

Here is another recommendation for the Hotel Genio.
The location is great, and the rooftop terrace offers wonderful views.

We haven't stayed at the Garnd Hotel Minerva since 2000, I had no idea that it is no longer a Crowne Plaza which means no special deal anymore. It's a shame because it was relatively a good bargain if anyone wants to be near Piazza Navona (which is presently all covered up for renovation).

I think I recall some rather iffy things about Residenza San Pantaleo. Put the name in the search box and see what you find. Also, check out www.tripadvisor.com.

We stayed at the Hotel Bramante last summer with our teens. It's near St. Peter's, not Piazza Navona, but it is attractive, the staff is very nice and the breakfast is the best you'll find anywhere. A fresh, delicious spread. The hotel is a 3-star and the price is good.
