Enzo,
I stayed at the Margutta several winters ago and did not like it. Our room was dark, small, I mean vry small, and poorly heated. I understand some rooms are better than others, but based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend it. I am pretty sure there are a few posts on the forum on the Margutta with a variety of opinions. You might want to search for them.

(whoops) Marcus is in a great location with many sites within walking distance. This more than makes up for the small but clean rooms. Be sure to go to Giolitti.

I stayed at the Margutta a few years back, it was a little dark, however the room was large and very clean! The price and location were perfect! I have a trip planned the fisrt of June, the Margutta was booked, I did get a room at the Locarno, I would like to hear feedback on this hotel...
